Terrence
M. Fullum, M.D.,
FACS is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Howard University
College of Medicine (HUCM). In that capacity, he serves
as Medical Director of the Howard University Center for
Wellness and Weight Loss Surgery. He is also Chief, Division
of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Howard
University Hospital. Dr. Fullum is a Fellow of the American
College of Surgeons (FACS) and he is board certified
in General Surgery. He also serves as the Director of
the Advance Laparoscopic and Bariatric Fellowship Training

Dr.
Denia Tapscott is
Program Director of the Howard University Center for
Wellness and Weight Loss Surgery in Washington, DC.
She is also an assistant professor of medicine at Howard
University College of Medicine. A graduate of the University
of Virginia and Georgetown Medical School, Dr. Tapscott
continued her internal medicine internship and residency
training at the University of Texas, in Houston. She
is board certified in Internal Medicine. Read

Henry
Paul, Jr., M.D., FACS is currently Assistant
Professor and Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery
at Howard University College of Medicine. He is Co-director
of the Howard University Hospital Combined Hand Surgery
Service. He is board certified in Plastic Surgery,
a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons,
and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr.
Paul received his Bachelor of Science degree at the
University of California, Irvine. He graduated with
honors from Howard University College of Medicine and
was subsequently fully trained in General Surgery at

Alfreda
Hill, serves as
the Bariatric Coordinator and Clinical Practice Supervisor
for Howard University Center for Wellness and
Weight Loss Surgery. She has served as a Bariatric Nurse
for the past seven years, working with patients to ensure
the very best possible healthcare as well as educating
patients on nutrition, hypertension, diabetes management,
pre and post operative needs. She has been interviewed
by local and national publications concerning Bariatric
Surgery, including Oprah Magazine "May
2006", Advance Nursing Publication, and Washington
Adventist Health Magazine. She has spoken on the subject
of bariatric surgery to numerous groups including the
American Academy of Physician Assistant annual conference.
Carolyn
Warren has over 25 years of experience in
the healthcare field with experiences as an Associate
Program Coordinator, Insurance Liaison, and Surgery
Schedule Coordinator. She has worked with Dr. Fullum
for 5 years. Carolyn joined him at Howard University
Center for Wellness and Weight Loss Surgery
in June 2008. She helps to navigate patients through
the bariatric program and the insurance process. She
also provides and coordinates clinical services for
minimally invasive, bariatric, and plastic surgery.
Trina
Harris is the Bariatric Program Analyst at Howard
University Center for Wellness and Weight
Loss Surgery. She joined the staff in November 2008.
Her responsibilities include: data/information management
and community outreach. As a business graduate of the
University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Trina has worked
in the areas of program development, marketing, and
data analysis. She has worked with government health
agencies, information technology and consulting firms,
universities, and hospitals. Prior to coming to Howard,
Trina worked many years at a Maryland hospital, in
which she served in the areas of quality assurance,
strategic planning, and emergency and surgery department
administration.
Janine
Gross has always wanted to work in the healthcare
field. She graduated from Parks College in Tysons Corner,
VA as a Certified Medical Assistant. She has worked as
a receptionist since January 2008 but has worked in the
healthcare field since 2005. She enjoys working with
patients. Janine joined the staff at theHoward University
Center for Wellness and Weight
Loss Surgery as a receptionist/patient service representative
in April 2008.
Christine
Webb joined the staff at the Howard University
Center for Wellness and Weight
Loss Surgery in April 2009. She completed her training
as a Medical Assistant at Tesst College in Beltsville,
MD. At the top of her class, Christine has always wanted
to help all different types of people. She enjoys helping
and encouraging patients with weight loss.
